DISCOVER NATURE
With a land mass the size of a continent - more than 8, 5 million sq.km - in terms of area the nation is the fifth largest in the world, occupying almost half of South America.
Brazil embraces contrasting ecosystems such as the Amazon Forest and the Atlantic Forest with their incredibly luxuriant woodlands; the Cerrado (scrublands) and the Caatinga (arid lands) with their twisted trees and landscapes that change radically according to the seasons; and the Pantanal (marshland) with its flood plains teeming with an amazing variety of animals. Across this land-mass, almost entirely located in a low altitude inter-tropical zone, average temperatures are mainly above 20 degrees Celsius.
RELAX AT THE BEACH
For the visitor, this means an all-year-round opportunity to enjoy nature or some of the hundreds of beaches that are scattered along the 7,400 kilometers of coastline, with winds that are ideal for sailing and windsurfing; white sandy beaches, beaches with waves that are ideal for surfers; popular city beaches, or semi-wild beaches where few have ever stepped.
CARNIVAL AND CULTURE
Fantastic experiences await you in Brazil, and there is a very special attraction that you only discover when you get there: the Brazilian people. Quite apart from the breathtaking scenery, the way the people live impresses everyone with its simplicity, willingness, hope, hospitality and happiness.
The country has a long and rich colonial history: towns such as Olinda and Ouro Preto still preserve beautiful examples of Portuguese colonial architecture, and in the city of Salvador the legacy of slavery can be seen in the the rich churches and the African-influenced food and culture of this, the first-established colonial setllement in the country.
